I guess the real, World Series, was between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox, as most fans across the country originally thought. Some sports writers were trying to hype this series, but most people knew that they were just trying to sell newspapers.

Poor St. Louis. They have to be mortified. They've worked all year to get to this point, only to find out, Boston and New York, are in a different league...... and I don't mean the American league.
Could, "the Curse" finally be over?

I watched the St. Louis fans, sitting in their seats, absolutely stunned by what was happening before their eyes. At the outset, they must of been excited and even giddy, regarding their team coming home to play, where they were undefeated during the post season.
As the game progressed, I watched their expression change to, a more dejected, or hopeless look.
"I can't believe this", some of them must of thought.

Now the Cardinals have to try and win four games in a row, which has never been done in 100 years, of post season play, until Boston did it against the mighty Yankees.
Can lightning strike twice in the same season? I think not!
That would be a bad bet.
But should it happen, the Red Sox "curse" will never be broken. Not in our lifetime anyway.

I feel bad for the Cardinals, as they have a good ball club and a great manager in Tony LaRusa.
In another year, yes.
But this year, it's come time to put the "curse" or "jinx" to bed, once and for all.

I can't help but feel happy for Boston. I must admit to hoping that they would beat the dreaded Yankees, win the World Series and end this "curse thing" once and for all. My gosh, 86 years is long enough to wait for a World Championship.
Can you imagine? It's been since 1918 that Boston has been waiting for this. People lived and died during that period of time and never saw the Red Sox win the World Series.

For you, St. Louis fans, I feel bad that the "curse" must be broken at your expense.
Hey! At least you made the "Big Show." There are only two teams still standing, and you are one of them. You've won the National League Pennent, no small feat in itself.

If you need a consolation prize, here it is.
How would you like to be Alex Rodriquez today? This poor guy has to be feeling suicidal at this point. He had the opportunity to play for the Red Sox this season and instead, ended up in New York.
Yep! If I were in his shoes, I'd be ready to throw myself in front of a bus. But then again, I guess the money might help with the swallowing of ones pride.

So don't feel to poorly, Cardinal fans. At least your not, "A Rod." He didn't even make the World Series.

Enjoy the moment!

The only Cardinal I can't feel bad for is Matt Morris. I don't like Matt Morris. That is all.

What's wrong with Matt Morris?

Don't count us out yet. We will fight to the death tomorrow night!

Were you spying on me in my living room, dude?!

Seriously, as a newbie to both baseball and St Louis I had high hopes for tonight's game.  I still have high hopes for tomorrow night's game.

Yes, my question too. Why don't you like Matt Morris?

Go Red Sox!

I believe you might be right about the Cardinals winning tomorrow evenings game. I think Boston might come into game four a bit flat and feel they have a throw-away game.

Dang! I'm busted!
Yep, that was me, looking through the family room window.
hehehehehehehe!

Hey, you should have moved to Boston.

But with Boston's, World Series record, I would not have recommended that by a long shot. and by a team that had to beat the Yankees to get to the Big Show.
86 years is a long time.

The Cardinals might just make this a Series yet. I can't believe that St. Louis is just going to lay down and die.

Good luck, I hope they win at least one game for you.

Ha! Try being from Chicago. The White Sox (the team I stand behind) and the Cubs (the team I abhor) last won the World Series in 1917 and 1908, respectively. The haven't even appeared in a World Series since 1959, and the Cubs since 1945. It's pretty sad when for braggin rights, A White Sox fan like me has to brag that we've won the World Series more recently, and that in the Head to Head World Series, the underdog White Sox defeated the Cubs 4 games to 2 in 1906.

Hey! You can take consolation that you've got a great City, with great bars and Night Clubs.

Question: Would you be angry if the Cubs won a World Series before the Sox? I mean, at least their from Chicago, right?
I have another question: How does your City support 2 ball clubs? I've always wondered about that.

It's so depressing to hear fans that are upset about a a team that hasn't won in 86 years. Or longer. At least they've won once. I just keep rooting for my Padres. We'll win it someday!

I don't think that the Padres have been in existance for even 50 years, have they?

Hang in there.

I dislike Matt Morris because of comments he made about Sammy Sosa after the corked bat incident last year. I am a Cubs fan, and although I don't defend Sosa, and in fact would like to see him traded this offseason, I think the corked bat was an isolated incident that happened in the middle of a horrible slump, and that some of the comments Matt Morris made concerning the rest of Sosa's career were completely unnecessary. I think Morris thinks he's so great because he's the "ace" of the Cardinals pitching staff. If he were traded to any other team in the league, he would immediately be bumped to a number 4 or 5 starter.

In response to Insightful's Chicago questions, here's how a Cubs fan looks at it. The Sox fans don't want us to win first, and we don't want them to win first. Sure I would probably root for them for being from Chicago, but it would be more like how I root for anyone who plays the Yankees.

Ok, now I have another question: how come you want "Slamming Sammy" to be traded?
Dang! A lot of Clubs would love to have that guy, if for no other reason then ticket sales.
